Close to 70 students participated in the Black Science Cafe at the Museum of Science and Industry. Students qualified for the field trip by meeting one or more of the following criteria: perfect attendance, inclusion in the quarter 2 honor roll, and/or demonstrating good behavior. At Rickover Junior High School, we strongly believe in the power of exposure to open doors of opportunity. Therefore, we strive to provide our students with valuable field experiences.
The PPS team organized a scavenger hunt in honor of Kindness Week. Congratulations to our scavenger hunt winners: Kaesey Pearson from 6th grade and Eriohn Miller from 7th grade!

The Thrive Tribe mentoring program had their first visit to Trail and it was a huge success! The mentors were able to connect with the youth and provide them with invaluable guidance and support. It's amazing to see the positive impact that this program is having on the community. Keep up the great work, Thrive Tribe!
The Lady Raiders Volleyball team is on fire this season! With their impressive skills and teamwork, they've been dominating the court and showing their opponents what they're made of. Keep up the great work, Lady Raiders!
Community Consolidated Schools District 168 will be providing free ESL classes to parents and community members to learn and improve English. The classes will be taught by a Governors State University instructor between the dates of January 30, 2024 to May 7, 2024. Classes will be held on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:00 P.M. - 4:30 P.M. at Strassburg School. If you would like to participate in ESL classes to learn and improve your English skills, please complete the registration form.

Attention 8th graders! Need some extra support in math? Look no further than the new lunch and learn initiative happening every day during 8th grade lunch! Facilitated by Mr. Bebout, this program is designed to provide students with additional help and resources to succeed in their math studies. Winter Spirit Week was a great success! The participation from students and staff was phenomenal, and everyone had a blast participating in the various activities throughout the week. The school spirit was at an all-time high, making it a memorable and enjoyable experience for all.
The Rickover Junior High Choir was amazing! Their mesmerizing performance showcased exceptional talent and dedication to their craft.

The Winter Dance was an absolute success - OMG! Both students and staff were stunning. A huge shoutout to Mr. Moton and the Student Council for their outstanding work. Immense gratitude goes out to everyone who contributed to the event. A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated chaperones: Mr. Jones, Ms. Bickerstaff, Mrs. Gist, Ms. Coleman, Mrs. Daniels, and Mrs. Quick. We're also thankful for the parent volunteers and my family and friends who showed up in support of our students. I am bursting with pride for RJHS; we truly are remarkable. Mr. Moton, your efforts were exceptional!
